Thank you to everyone who came to the Houston CX camp! It was a great turnout, and we had a blast :)

If you would like us to host a camp in your area, please let us know! We would love to host another day-long CX workshop, an intensive tournament prep camp, a camp to learn the Coolidge format, or anything else that would be helpful! Just shoot me an email at and we can work out the details.

Patrick McDonald won four events at the 2022 NCFCA National Championship: After Dinner Speaking, Extemporaneous, Moot Court, and Persuasive. Patrick competed in the NCFCA for five years. With the exception of Biblical Thematic and Humorous Interpretation, he participated in every event that the league offers. His time in speech and debate taught him that speeches are conversations first and performances second. In his view, presentations should be thorough, accurate, and engaging—but also clear, candid, and concise. Understanding is a prerequisite to persuasion. Patrick is currently attending Hillsdale College in Michigan, The United States of America.

Danielle Miller is an independent debate coach specializing in Team Policy debate and platform speeches. In 2021, she took second place in TP at Nationals with her partner Clare Cey. She believes the keys to debate are creativity (in your own theories and strategies), truth (of your arguments), and empathy (for your judges). Currently, she is on the Model UN team at Baylor University, where she is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. She also writes for the Ethos sourcebook, and helps run debate tournaments for the Coolidge Foundation.
